Howard HAVOC Dance Program

Tradition. Excellence. Discipline. Unity.

The Howard HAVOC Dance Program is a proud student dance organization located at David T. Howard Middle School in the Midtown area of Atlanta and part of Atlanta Public Schools. Originally established in 2000, the program has a rich history of providing students with opportunities to express themselves through dance, performance, teamwork, and school spirit.

In 2022, Howard HAVOC entered an exciting new chapter when the program was redesigned and revitalized under the leadership of Coach Pointdexter and her dedicated coaching team. Since that time, the program has continued to grow into a structured and dynamic dance organization focused on developing confident performers, responsible students, and positive young leaders.

Howard HAVOC is about more than learning choreography. The program promotes discipline, academic achievement, accountability, teamwork, confidence, creativity, leadership, and sportsmanship. Dancers are encouraged to represent themselves, their families, David T. Howard Middle School, and Atlanta Public Schools with pride both on and off the performance floor.

Through practices, school performances, athletic events, pep rallies, community appearances, and other special events, Howard HAVOC provides dancers with opportunities to strengthen their technique while developing important life skills. The coaching staff works to create an environment where every dancer understands the importance of commitment, preparation, perseverance, and supporting their teammates.

Since its revitalization in 2022, Coach Pointdexter and the Howard HAVOC coaching team have remained committed to building upon the program's original foundation while creating a new standard of excellence for the next generation of dancers.

Today, Howard HAVOC continues to represent the energy, talent, diversity, and spirit of the Howard community in the heart of Atlanta. With a strong foundation behind us and an exciting future ahead, the program continues to inspire students to work hard, perform boldly, lead confidently, and leave their own mark on the Howard HAVOC legacy.

We are more than a dance team. We are a family. We are leaders. We are HOWARD HAVOC!
