Chloe Thurmond
Chloe Thurmond is a 17-year-old Dawson County High School senior whose passion for music has shined since she first stepped onstage at just three years old. Raised in a deeply musical family, Chloe grew up surrounded by singers, guitarists, banjo and piano players, and church musicians whose influence helped shape her into one of north Georgia’s most promising young vocalists. She is the eighth generation of her father’s family raised in the rural Sweetwater/Juno community of Dawsonville, Georgia—an upbringing that instilled in her a strong sense of belonging, gratitude, and purpose.
Her small-town roots and the unwavering support of the community she calls home continue to fuel her drive to explore beyond those boundaries, broaden her education, and deepen her appreciation for the world around her. The combination of close-knit community values and a growing artistic vision has played a defining role in her development as both a performer and a young adult.
For more than a decade, Chloe has performed at community events, festivals, fundraisers, and local venues across north Georgia. She is especially recognized for her long-standing presence at Dawsonville’s Mountain Moonshine Festival, where she has performed for ten consecutive years before crowds exceeding 100,000 attendees. Her heartfelt vocal style, warm and genuine Southern personality, and natural ability to connect with audiences have earned her a loyal following and widespread regional recognition.
In addition to her public performances, Chloe serves as a youth worship leader at Chestatee Worship Center, where she is admired for her dedication, character, and sincere love for music. Her leadership extends into her school life as well—Chloe is an active leader within the Dawson County High School Tiger Choir, a program she credits with helping her grow in confidence, skill, and artistic maturity.
Her school leadership also praises her achievements. DCHS Tiger Choir Director Kevin Woody describes her as “an exceptional young lady with an incredible gift for music.” Principal Michael Negley adds, “Chloe is a wonderful student, a hard worker, a talented performer, and a friend to many. I’m thrilled for her to have this opportunity and excited to see her achieve her dreams. She will continue to make Dawson County proud as she soars.”
This year marks Chloe’s debut at the Georgia Festival of Trees—an opportunity she is both proud of and humbled by. The event holds special meaning for her, as it was an annual family event for her mother during her childhood years, and especially with its proceeds supporting Street Grace and Atlanta Redemption Ink in their efforts to end human trafficking and provide resources for survivors.
“I didn’t realize what a big thing this really was when my mom first asked if I wanted to audition." Chloe said. "But now that I understand the event’s purpose and the cause of the nonprofits it supports, I’m very, very excited to be part of something with such a good, soulful mission,” she added.
With her heartfelt delivery, natural musicality, and passion for uplifting others through song, Chloe Thurmond looks forward to sharing her voice at the Festival of Trees and contributing to a celebration that brings joy, hope, and holiday spirit to families across Georgia.
