Artist Bio

Sissy Pig Adventures (formally known as Couture Creations) is a home based business creating distinctively designed quilts, elegant (yet exceptional) jewelry, dramatic art dolls, wall hangings, fabric purses, event planning and many other arts and crafts.

My studio is located in the basement of my home and houses a wealth of inspiration and endless ideas. It overflows with an abundance of fabrics, crafts, books, sewing machines and kick knacks.

My motto is, "Life is too short not to be happy; believe in yourself and achieve your dreams".

As a teenager, I was the owner of Jeannie's Fabric Boutique, a simple country shop in Elberton, Georgia. My parents and I purchased a variety of fabrics, mostly for church choirs. After high school graduation, l earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising at Brenau Women's College in Gainesville, Georgia. I was hired for my college internship at Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord &Taylor's. I chose to complete it with Lord & Taylor's, at Phipps Plaza in Atlanta, Georgia.

Afterwards, I was hired at Richs (now Macy's) Department Stores working my way up from Assistant Manager in Fine China and Crystal to Assistant Manager in Sportswear to Assistant Buyer in Better Sportswear. Eventually, l accepted a position as Merchandise Liaison with Marshall's Distribution Center and traveled extensively for several years working for the company.

I have had the opportunity to work with Morehouse College as floral designer of centerpieces for their

"Candle in the Dark" celebration, wreath designer for 10 plus years of participation in "The Festival of Trees", published in South Fulton's "Southside Neighbor", honorable mention in the "Mojo Doll" challenge for "Quilts Magazine" and one of twenty-eight featured artist for "Studios" magazine.

I have teamed up with Phyllis Adams of Jazzee Bella Creations on several projects as well as co-teaching arts & craft classes for Chill Time Crafting since 2024.
